CLIVE QUOTES
(His Idea on how Sunset Beach should have ended)- "My suggestion was that Derek kills everybody, but then starts laughing, rips off his mask and turns out to be Annie with my voice. Then, I had the idea that she should wake up from a dream. If you watched the episode where she handcuffs Eddie Connors...I had her waking up after that nightmare and Eddie was saying , Hey, Babe, where are the keys? Then, I had her going down to her living room area, looking out at the beach and seeing Ben meeting Meg for the first time.......They're not doing that." (From- Soap Opera Digest -Jan 4 2000)
(Television or Theatre)- "In all seriousness, I prefer theater as a medium only because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and theater allows you to perfect your performance. Having said that, it doesn't pay very well! I've never done as much TV as I have since I've done this show [Sunset Beach] and what I like most about it is, that I have, as an actor, become more spontaneous as an actor because you can't be as polished in your peformance." QUOTES ABOUT CLIVE
SUSAN WARD- "We did have good chemistry and we had a lot of fun together, he is a great guy." (From- Girlzone Chat- July 8 2000)
CHRISTINA CHAMBERS-(on Clive playing both Ben & Derek)- " It was unusual the way he would play the characters. I wasn't fortunate enough to work with him in 1998 as Derek but I had heard about it before I joined the show. I came on during that time as Dana but was not involved with their storyline so it was a nice and total suprise the way he played them so differently, Ben is a more vunerable character whereas Derek knew what he wanted although it was wrong. It was obvious to me the caliber of actor he was but his portrayal of the two was unbelievable. Emmy caliber." (From- soap star world online - Dec 27 1999)
SUSAN WARD- "It's a joy working with Clive. We cover for each other a lot of the time. He's very patient and giving in a lot of ways. He's held my hand a few days and helped me through my day." (From- soap opera digest online chat- sept 8 1997)
